Three parks in three days: elephants and baobabs in Tarangire, a full morning in the Ngorongoro Crater, and the forest and lake of Manyara. Ideal if you are short on time or combining a safari with Kilimanjaro or Zanzibar.
This short safari covers the parks closest to Arusha, so you spend your time watching wildlife rather than driving. Nights are spent in the cool Ngorongoro highlands at Karatu, a short drive from the crater gate.
Every Exotic Legacy safari is private: the vehicle and guide are yours, and the timings can change to suit you.
Your guide collects you from your Arusha hotel or the airport at about 8:00. Two hours later you enter Tarangire for an afternoon among its elephants, baobabs and the Tarangire River. After the game drive, continue up the Rift Valley escarpment to Karatu.
An early breakfast and the descent into the crater as the gates open. Spend the morning on the crater floor looking for black rhino, lion, hyena and the big elephant bulls of the Lerai forest. Picnic lunch by the Ngoitokitok spring, then climb back to Karatu.
A morning game drive in Lake Manyara National Park: baboon troops in the groundwater forest, the hippo pool and the lake shore. Drive back to Arusha, arriving mid-afternoon, or to Kilimanjaro airport for an evening flight.
