About Exotic Legacy Safaris and Tours
A locally owned safari company in Arusha, the town at the foot of Mount Meru where every northern Tanzania safari begins. We plan private trips for travellers who want to see Tanzania properly, at their own pace.
Who we are
Exotic Legacy Safaris and Tours is a Tanzanian company based in Arusha. We plan and run private safaris on the northern circuit, Kilimanjaro climbs, Zanzibar holidays and day trips, for travellers from all over the world. Our guides, cooks and mountain crews are Tanzanian, and our planners work from the same town your safari starts in.
How we work
- Private trips. Your safari is never shared with strangers. You have your own vehicle and guide, and you decide when to start and how long to stay at a sighting.
- Built around you. Every itinerary on this website is a starting point. We change the parks, lodges and number of days to fit your dates, interests and budget.
- Clear prices. Our quotes include park fees, crater fees, accommodation, meals and transfers. We tell you what is not included before you book.
- One planner from start to finish. You talk to the same person from your first question to the end of your trip, by email or WhatsApp.
Our vehicles
We use 4x4 Toyota Land Cruisers with a pop-up roof for game viewing, a window seat for every guest and drinking water on board.
On the mountain
Kilimanjaro climbs are led by licensed mountain guides who check every climber's oxygen saturation and pulse twice a day and carry emergency oxygen. We treat porters fairly: loads within the park limit, fair wages, proper food and warm gear. Read our responsible travel commitments.
